The government work report of Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province, delivered this year, proposed doubling down on efforts to revitalize its manufacturing sector to create a new growth engine for the city.
Moreover, the high-end, smart and sustainable manufacturing businesses will be prioritized.
The government has sent officials to visit companies in Beijing, Shenzhen and other places to introduce Guiyang's business environment and preferential policies as well as seek practical cooperation opportunities.
The 2023 business promotion target was set: Guiyang will strive to bring in over 165 billion yuan ($23.71 billion) in capital, of which 55 percent will be allocated to industrial projects. In addition, Guiyang is expected to attract some 420 leading enterprises.
This year, Guiyang business promotion teams based in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Wuhan have traveled to key areas, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Pearl River Delta region and the Yangtze River Delta region, to search for potential business partners.
Last year, the five business promotion teams signed project agreements worth 53.47 billion yuan, and encouraged many companies to visit Guiyang.
