Guian holds conference on high-quality development

The Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province held a conference on high-quality development on Feb 13.

The conference summarized Guian's remarkable achievements over the past year and clarified goals for 2023.

The total output of the primary industry, including agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing, is expected to grow by 6.5 percent to 1.31 billion yuan ($192.18 million) this year; the total output of sectors above a designated size in the secondary industry is expected to exceed 18 billion yuan, with the added value growth rate set to reach 60 percent, while the construction sector is expected to see an output of 26.5 billion yuan.

Tax revenue from the transportation sector is expected to grow by 15 percent, and the sales of wholesale businesses above a designated size are expected to rise to 20 billion yuan.

In non-profit service trade, wage growth rates of people working in jobs related to water conservancy, environment, and public facility management, education, sanitation and social work, public management, social security and social groups are expected to remain at 10 percent, 5 percent, 10 percent and 5 percent, respectively.

In addition, the new area plans to spend 30 billion yuan in fixed asset investment, of which 15 billion yuan is to be invested in industrial areas. The general public budget revenue is estimated to increase by 6 percent.

The new area will bring in 206 investment projects, with the total investment estimated to reach 277.7 billion yuan.
